Dr. Jacob Bukoski is a Science Advisor at Carbon Direct for forest carbon science and management.
Dr. Bukoski's uses interdisciplinary approaches to conduct applied research on the conservation, management, and restoration of forests globally. In doing so, he has worked across academia, non-profits, government, and the private sector. Dr. Bukoski is currently an assistant professor and the Director of the Forests & Climate Change graduate certificate program at Oregon State University’s Department of Forest Ecosystems & Society. Dr. Bukoski also serves as a member of SilvaCarbon - an interagency technical coordination program of the US government - where he regularly advises and conducts international capacity building on greenhouse gas emission monitoring and reporting from the land sector.
Dr. Bukoski completed his Ph.D. at the Department of Environmental Science, Policy, and Management at the University of California, Berkeley, his M.Sc. in Forest Science at Yale University’s School of Forestry, and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
