Rachael is a forest carbon scientist on the commercialization team at Carbon Direct. She uses her expertise in carbon markets to support scientific due diligence, procurement and co-development work on high-quality carbon removal projects.
Rachael is passionate about scaling high-quality forest carbon projects to achieve significant climate impact and biodiversity conservation. She has over 10 years experience spanning carbon markets, NGOs, and major research institutions.
Before joining Carbon Direct, Rachael worked as a Forest Carbon Scientist at Renoster, a carbon credit rating agency. There, she focused on evaluating forest carbon projects and led the team’s first pre-issuance reviews. Prior to this, Rachael was a Remote Sensing Scientist for Terra Global Capital, where she supported the development of nature-based carbon projects and collaborated on-site with local coordinators across Latin America and Southern Africa.
Rachael’s academic background is in forest science, remote sensing, and land use. She holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from the Yale School of the Environment.
