As a Client Engagement Manager focused on the aviation and fuels sectors, Betsey advises transportation providers and fuel producers on high-quality carbon reduction and removal strategies, developing tailored solutions that maximize climate impact.
Betsey Rafeld draws on her experience in international freight and logistics to primarily support clients in the aviation and fuels industries. She works closely with the Industrial Decarbonization team at Carbon Direct to lead strategies tied to the development of sustainable aviation fuel and other critical pathways to decarbonizing a hard-to-abate industry.
Prior to joining Carbon Direct, Betsey spent 7 years at international freight and tech company Flexport, managing maritime, aviation and trucking freight operations, client success, and large-scale implementations. During her most recent role on Flexport’s Climate team, she launched a sustainable aviation fuels program allowing customers to reduce their scope 3 air freight emissions.
